broken links
-
I have an archives page that lists all of my post by date order. I create all the links myself. Everything was fine. Today I noticed that all the links dating pre Jan 2012 are not functioning. Is there something I did to lose all those links?

I see what you mean on this page > http://slightlynorthofawesome.wordpress.com/archives-2/
I clicked: Expressing Gratitude and got a 404 (page not found)
Take a look at that link:
<a title="24 - Expressing Gratitude" href="http://slightlynorthofawesome.wordpress.com/2011/12/page/5/">24 – Expressing Gratitude</a>
Hopefully, Staff or another Volunteer will be able to help you sort this. -
With Infinite Scroll recently added and enabled on your blog, you now have effectively 7 posts per page, which means that you December Archive listing only has 2 pages.
Why not just link to the posts themselves?
For example: http://slightlynorthofawesome.wordpress.com/2011/12/24/expressing-gratitude/

staff-blorbo – did Infinite Scroll cause the links to be changed or is this some sort of side effect in that the OP did not have the links set up correctly initially in some way?
Seems to me that if the original links went to a Post they should stay to that Post – but if the links were set up to some Archive Page then things would change each time a new Post was published.
Guess I am a bit confused here.
thanks

What I would do is create a new page and place the Archives Shortcode on it. That’s what I did on both of my blogs so the pages were not affected by infinite scroll and there were no broken links.

Sort of, when Infinite Scroll is enable, each page is effectively set to show 7 posts.

Exactly, the OP appears to have had it set to 1 post per page, so rather than linking to the specific post, he was just linking to its page in the archives.

The fore-mentioned Archives Shortcode: https://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/
