Broken links to images from gstatic

  Hello,
  I am using WP pipes plugin to pull google news via RSS to create posts. Whenever the pipe is run in the godaddy cron or the wp cron, the links to the images are broken as it replaces the gstatic domain with my site domain. This problem does not happen when i manually run the pipe.

  Any ideas why this is happening. i have already tried the below steps
  1. Checked hotlink protection – it is disabled.
  2. configured the pipe to pull data from source, not cache.
  3. Removed all plug ins.
  4. Tried different themes.
