Broken sentences

I pasted an essay i wrote onto a post in my blog and the formatting is now all screwed up and sentences are broken in the middle and sometimes skip lines. when i go to edit it, in the window the text is well formatted and seperated into paragraphs. when i save, the screwed up formatting is still there. how can i fix this?
p.s. this only happends to a single post.

You aren’t pasting from Word by any chance? That’ll screw things up big time.

Paste it into a plain text editor (NotePad on Windows, TextEdit on Mac, I think) and then paste it into the blog.

Not sure how you wrote that post but it’s filled with br tags. Removing them would help. How did you write it? Is it a copy and paste?

yes it is a copy and paste and i cannot see those br tags…

If you cannot see the br tags then click on the code tab and they will be revealed so you can remove them.

If you create your blog entry in a web page creator like I do…..make sure to view it in code view, and copy everything in between <body> and </body> excluding these two tags…and paste it in code view in WordPress.

Include all the <p>paragraph</p> etc tags…..code to code should stay identical (after wordpress.com has stripped away any security concern code like javascript).

I’d echo the plain text editor solution too, a rich text editor like Word adds all sorts of extras into the code which do tend to screw up when pasted as code……it’s why web designers have their plain text editor close to hand at all times. Notepad is terrible though, I’ve found a much better free alternative for Windows called NoteTab…they have free and paid versions.
