Broken wp-adminbar w/ Chateau theme

I have been trying to update my blog to a new theme (Chateau) and have gone into the Custom CSS to modify settings and inadvertently I caused the fonts in the admin bar and it’s drop-down menus – AND the widget titles in the footer area to appear white against a light background.

I’ve tried to de-bug it but no where in the custom css can I find any headers or drop-down menus that are set to #ffffff. I can put up w/ the widget titles but the adminbar is just impossible to read and looks really messy.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, it looks like you have pasted in the entire stylesheet at Appearance > Customize > CSS. We do not recommend doing that as it can cause issues such as this. Our recommendation is to put into the CSS window, only the specific selectors and declarations you are changing and keep the keep Don’t use the theme’s original CSS checked. That way it is easier for you to keep track of what you have changed and much, much easier to troubleshoot when something goes wrong. With the above procedure, your added CSS will be loaded after the original CSS and override it.

I don’t recall having pasted the entire stylesheet, but I hadn’t slept for 36 hours at that time so ANYTHING is possible!

I did reinstall the theme to clean out the custom css and got things set up pretty close to the way I want it now. So much thanks for your quick response and tips!

    :-) Leslie
