Bromley Categories Header Images
-
Hi there
Love my Bromley theme and most small things have been sorted out bringing it to a fine finishHowever, there is one thing that does continually bug me
When you click on categories the header images are cut in half.I am sure that if I added a side bar they would go back to normal dimensions but I want all my posts to be without a sidebar.
I was wondering if there are any solutions to this problem?
Thanks

Hi Andy, I’m not sure I’m understanding. On the header image at the top of your site, I’m not seeing it getting cut off. I’m looking at this category page: https://justurnleft.com/category/china/ .
Are you by chance talking about the featured images that show on the left of the posts?

Hiya Sacredpath
Thanks for dropping by and nice to see you again mateOK so go to categories on the sidebar of front page
Click on one, say Beijing as its at the top
You will see that all the images have been cut in half, for example you cant see the bicycle repair man’s head any more and only the builder’s leg.I dont want to add a sidebar to it as that would spoil all of my posts.
Thanks for your time
Andy

Hi Andy, we can make some adjustments, but some of this is due to differences in the photos orientations – landscape vs portrait. The bicycle repairman image is landscape and the builder image below that is portrait. Let’s try the following and see what you think. What this does is to widen the image and narrow the title/text area to the right and increases the image height a bit. I’ve limited this change using a media query to screen/window widths 600px and wider. Below that it will return to the original design.
@media screen and (min-width: 600px) { .archive .main article.post-archive a.thumbnail { width: 60%; } .archive .main article.post-archive.has-image { padding-left: 60%; } .archive .main article.post-archive.has-image { min-height: 20em; } } -
Hi there Sacredpath
Will this change the size of the header images on my main page?
I only need to change the size of the images once you click on categories.Just checking before I do anything as I happy with the size of the images on my main page.
You have to admit that the categories image sizes suck.

No, I’ve used the “archive” CSS class defined in the opening HTML body tag to only target date archives, tag and category pages.
