    Thanks

The first place you’ll want to start is with your Reader. It comes up when you go to http://www.wordpress.com while you’re signed in. You’re automatically subscribed to a Discover feed that will bring you a daily selection highlights from miscellaneous WordPress blogs. As you find blogs that you enjoy and want to keep up with, go ahead and subscribe to them, and their new content will appear in your Reader as well.

I see that, but I don’t want to read any of the blogs in my discover feed. Is there no way to browse by subject?

Hmm… The best way to browse by subject would probably be to use the Tags tool in the Reader. “Tags” is the last option on your left-hand sidebar, and if you click on it, it will give you the option to click “New” and add subjects that you want to see. Every subject that you add as a tag, like Art or Cooking or Sports, etc, will be added into your Reader so you can find blogs and new posts on that subject.

You can read more about tags, and the Reader in general, here:
