-
Hi there! hoping you can help me. I’ve had some comments that my blog that when loaded on firefox, everything seems fine. but on Internet explorer, it has some overlapping. A second comment does not list the browser but says the pics are not loading correctly. My blog is stonecropsister.com, and both are from the same post. I only have a Mac, i use safari, open in chrome, seems fine. So difficult for me to see what it looks like.
Appreciate it if you could point me to problem and possible fix.
thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Were the comments from real people or were the user names suspiciously spammy? Often spam comments mention things like that.
If they were from real people please put a link to the post concerned so we can have a look. :)

Hi, I took the comments out of spam thinking they were legit. sheepish embarrassment as an icon would be appropriate at this time. Man, i just have to be less trusting. can you let me know if this is the case?

I would say spam in both cases. I’m heartless when it comes to approving comments, just one spam getting on to a post means it will be targeted over and over again, and drive you mad!
If you’re not sure if a comment is real or not you can hold off on approving it. If there is a real person on the other end they will likely comment again thinking something went wrong. You can always approve it later. :)

ok thanks so much. I will unapprove them, not sure if that will help at this point though. I sure appreciate you looking into it and helping me.
question: if they go into spam, i should probably leave them there? the ones that get through will have legit sites, is that how i tell the diff?

Unapprove, and send ’em back to spam. Once they’re gone the post is less likely to attract any more (they are like a disease!)
The spam folder is pretty good at corralling them, although I find some amazingly obvious ones get through at times. If they are there when you think they shouldn’t be it is ok to take them out, but in general they are there for a reason.
I don’t even bother to check if the sites attached to suspicious ones are legit. If they aren’t making a chatty (or grumpy… Everyone’s entitled to their opinion ;) ….) comment about the content of my post they are just trying to attract attention to themselves.
Best bet is to be suspicious. Over-the-top flattery, dreadful spelling and bad grammar is a mainstay of the spammy, but often they they help you out with user names like ‘cheap(somethingbad)online’ or ‘bestseo’! :D
