Browser issue?

    When I try to create a new blog or edit a post, I’m directed to a blank screen that shows only the WordPress ‘W’ logo. Just started happening a couple days ago. Since I have an old Mac OS X, my Firefox browser is version 16.0.2 (Safari is 5.0.6). So the proverbial ‘dumb question’: Is the problem simply the old browser versions?
