browser or general problem(s)?

    @ englishoke
    (1) Safari browser – From the FAQs
    I’m using Safari and I have problems!
    TinyMCE is the vsual rich text editor you are using and Safari has compatibility issues with it. These prblems will persist. On a mac to get the best from wordpress.com you are advised to use the uptodate version of Firefox. You might want to check Camino as this is similar to Firefox. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/20/im-using-safari-and-i-have-problems/

    (2) I have carefully explained step by step how to create a Page and how to place your Pages widget in your sidebar here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=12530&page&replies=21#post-90512

    (3) In addition I gave you this link understanding widgets and how to set them up and this is from the FAQs re:text widgets http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/12/24/using-the-text-widget/

    I have spent two days typing reams and trying to help you. Hopefully, you will spend some time reading and absorbing what I typed. Then, judy will not be wasting her time covering all this for you — again.

    timethief,

    Below is a quote from one of the many links you posted. (I can read. Maybe you should re-read it.) I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t ask other people not to waste their time as raincoaster, dr. Mike, (and Judy) and others have helped quite a lot with their questions and comments. If you misunderstand my questions, I apologize. I’m trying to be as clear as possible:

    Block quote:

    Rubrick is very professional looking and it works — no questions asked. The only issue you can run into with it is the sidebar text widget not displaying HTML as you intended. I was surprised at how good this theme is because I’d discounted it earlier, but that was before it had custom header image support.

    Pros: Flexible width, custom image header, links standout in text.
    Cons: No page template,

    End of that quote from the link you posted.

    Please stop typing “reams” as you are not answering my questions and I’m afraid it’s wasting your time–not my intention.

    You are wrongly attributing this quote to me. As you can read then go back to the quote and see who wrote it. Engtech wrote it. I provided the link to the theme review for you. In that review it is clearly revealed that Rubric does not display a tagline.

    The answers to your questions are included in the informatiuon at the links I provided. Presumably if you are teaching others English then you can read and comprehend English your self.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Ok. Last one. I never said you wrote it. It was taken from a link that you posted–a link that you suggested I read through. I did that. Here’s the link: http://internetducttape.com/2006/10/02/wordpress-theme-review-light-rubrick-solipsus-supposedly-clean/

    I’m neither trying to misquote you, nor dis the links or info you’re writing. So please stop blasting me and discouraging others from helping me. They help a lot!

    As you had the theme reviews before you yesterday and as you are a reader – you carefully read the chart for Rubrick and saw that it did not display a tagline – right? So you weren’t asking about it again today – right?

    As you read the material from the FAQs on Safari browser issues yesterday you weren’t referring to them again today – right? You understand the problems will persist unless you use firefox or camino – right? https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=12530&page&replies=21#post-90432

    judy helped you by giving you the same instructions contained in the material at the links I gave you yesterday. And you can bet your life I won’t be discouraging others from helping you.

    That’s a pretty cool trick to rewrite your previous posts. I’m out of here.

    Editing of forum posts is available for 10 minutes to everyone who has a compatible browser. I edited the post immediately above yours to (1) insert the link and (2) better word and arrange my responses to you. It took some time to pull up the other thread from yesterday in another window. It took time to read it and to confirm the same issues had been covered then, as well as, in this thread today.

    P.S. If you click on “member” next to your username then you can see all the posts you have made to this forum over the last 3 days.

    @timethief:

    What browser and version of it do you use? Internet Explorer 6.0
    What is your operating system? XP
    Which security program(s) do you use? McAfee
    Have you had any recent security updates? Yes, a couple of days ago (problem started before that)

    Sorry it took so long to respond. I’ve been away from my computer this afternoon.

    @englishoke:

    why do we use “@”? I have no earthly idea.

    It sounds like your blog is not functioning the way it should. I get the same results as TT:

    I do not see the Page widget you mention in your sidebar.
    This is what I see:
    Archives
    June 2007

    Text
    ELR Pilot (first show)

    And when I click on either one I get “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.”

    Send an email to support[at]wordpress.com and explain the problem. Include every detail you can think of in your email.

    Oh, and i’m not in India, i just used their airline to get to England :)

    @mypinktruth
    Give me some time to check the forum searchbox. I remember that McAffee updates have been a problem for others.

    Edit: Yes. That’s it. Turn off McAfee or at least white list *.wordpress.com and hopefully that should work for you.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I hope it works for you. Best wishes … :)

  • Unknown's avatar

    What does “white list *.wordpress.com” mean?

  • Unknown's avatar

    That’s when you add it as an “approved” site.
    It’s the opposite of making it into a “blocked” site.

    But I don’t use McAfee so let’s get another blogger to give you the instructions, okay?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I was just looking on the setting page of McAfee for that and it asks for specific IP addresses to be added. I can’t seem to find where to trust or ban a website.

  • Unknown's avatar

    My god, all that and englishoke was never actually using Rubrick anyway.

  • Unknown's avatar

    @mypinktruth
    I haven’t forgotten you. There just doesn’t seem to be anyone else who can help right now. :(

  • Unknown's avatar

    I don’t use McAfee either, but I can whitelist things in my browser. I think it’s under Tools, Options, Security.
