browser search results showing unpublished post

  The browser is showing a search result for an old post that i did not even publish. When clicking on it it shows page not found…but in the browser search results I do not want even the little bit I wrote to be shown. If I publish new posts it, the browser seach results still shows the contents of this old post.

  I have cleared all trash and my posting history shows only 2 posts published…which is correct.

  I really would like this deleted and feel uncomfortable that posts that I do not publish can be shown like this in the browser’s seach results. How can that happen?

  I have logged out…cleared cache…still it shows.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I get a 404 (page not found)

  Make sure you are running one of the browser versions found here http://browsehappy.com and if your aren’t then upgrade please.
  Log out. Reboot and log-in again.

  I am. I am using Chrome. This doesn’t explain how an unpublished post can be showing in the search results. How do I get this removed???

  Which version are you running? Hopefully it’s not a buggy BETA version. The most stable versions which are supported are found here http://browserhappy.com

  Which search results? WordPress.com search? Google search? Bing search?

  How does a buggy browser produce search results from an unpublished post?…You are not answering my question. This has nothing to do with “bugs”. How is the browser accessing my unpublished material?…Material that I have deleted long ago???

  Which search results are you referring to?

  Please post a screenshot of these search results, upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name in this thread so Staff can examine it.

  The post was indeed published at one point, then deleted.

  We have no control over Google’s index, but they should remove the listing eventually now that it’s gone.
