Bueno

Way cool! Thanks, Panos. Will spend some time experimenting a bit.
Part of the problem with my knitting blog’s header, funky though it may be, is that the blog name is so long. There’s really no way to shorten it. :)

Hi there, not sure if this is the right place to submit this issue, but I’ll try…
I just set up a new blog with this Bueno theme:
http://improvvisando.wordpress.comI have quite an issue with Facebook, as it does not allow any preview link (image+text) of my blog (either the home page or a single post) to any Facebook page (personal profile or fan page) the same way it usually works with any other link on the internet. It simply gets the link to the WordPress page, with no image or summary text that should be coming with it.
On FB support pages I got this FAQ:
http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=13496&hloc=en_US
But I’m not sure if this is the solution (does anybody know if we have these meta tags on WordPress pages?)As I said, I’m not sure if this is a “Bueno” issue or a general issue regarding WordPress vs. Facebook, so apologies if I’m posting on hte wrong thread…
Any idea for a solution is very welcome!!!

PS I almost forgot… another issue I have is about the font used for the post title: what’s it’s name? Very beautiful, but on some pc’s it’s turned into a plain and boring Times New Roman, thus spoiling the overall style of the theme. Any solution to this problem?

@tgspresident
The Facebook issue is not theme related. We cannot access our meta tags on wordpress.com blogs as this is a multiuser blogging platform. We can use Publicize > http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/ Or we can use one of the 5 other ways of importing wordpress.com blog post URLs and snippets to Facebook found in this post > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/12/importing-wordpress-com-post-snippets-into-a-facebook-fan-page/Fonts display differently on different operating systems and in different browsers. If you want to see what your site looks like and how fonts display in different browsers then you can use http://browserhsots.org to do that.

Also note that Facebook has made so many changes so frequently that these methods that work one day may not work the next. See here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/problems-with-post-sharing-and-blog-validation-errors-wordpresscom?replies=7 -
@timethief
That was really helpful to clarify a lot of things in my mind!!
Thank you for that! -

I really love the Bueno theme but have my main blog on WordPress.org. Can I create the blog in .com using Bueno and export the whole enchilada including theme over to .org?
-

Why doesn’t Bueno have the ‘1 column’ option for images? Because of that my images are small and all in 2 columns….am i doing something wrong? http://www.pinkyspixblog.net
-
contact support:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/that is a bug with that theme.
-
@reinoco: Yes it’s normal – see here:
@pinkyspix & Tess: It’s not specific to Bueno and it’s not a bug. Switch your editor to HTML and write the gallery shortcode this way:
[gallery columns="1" size="full"]
-
The standard gallery options you get when creating a gallery or when clicking on it to edit it (in the visual editor) are part of the image upload/insert tools: they don’t change from theme to theme.
My understanding is that a gallery is supposed to be a set of thumbnails automatically arranged in rows and columnS, so they made the column dropdown start with 2. Single-column gallery is identical to a series of individual images, i.e. not what the gallery feature was designed for.
-
Hello – I have CSS/Bueno and I’m trying to delete the main image featured from showing on posts and keep the thumbnail on the sidebar feature widget – is this possible?
Also, is there a way to enlarge the sidebar featured thumbnail pic and reduce the lines of text?Many thanks.

An example of preconceived ideas:
theirs and mine
WP’s = “a set of thumbnails automatically arranged in rows and columns”
———it is not a row unless it has at least 2 items (though it appears a column can be just 1)
My concept = a fast way to insert a lot of images into a post w/o doing it one by one———a row can be 1 item wide, and a column can be 1 longIt being their game-board, they make the rules, not me! so it is good to know:
“[gallery columns="1" size="full"]” -

Your question would be better/sooner answered in a new thread in the CSS forum rather than here.
There is not a lot of CSS help in these forums, but if someone can assist you, they’d be more likely to see your question there.
