Probably a dumb question but is it possible to remove the Date bubble from the upper left hand corner of each post all together?

I did a search and found your answer for you. If you’re experienced with CSS, that’s something that can be done with the Custom CSS upgrade. If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.
Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.
If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

You can preview CSS changes without paying for the upgrade but changes you make will appear only to you and won’t be permanent. The code you’d need to include is:

The header image size for Bueno exactly 930 × 198 pixels will be used as-is. Prepare an image of that size first and then this is where you upload it > Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > Header

The clear width in the sidebar is 280px. Keep your images at or below that and you will be fine.

First time posting here after starting to use wordpress.com last week to set up a little portfolio site for my baked goodies. I chose Bueno because I love the adorable dots and font and reading through this forum has been helpful to learn more about how it all works. So, thanks!
I will have my chef portrait and higher quality cake pictures soon but have been playing with cell phone pictures so far. What I’m hoping to be able to do is tag photos (for example, wedding, or blue) and be able to search and view any cake with that tag. Is there a widget or feature that can do this? And, please let me know if I should be asking this elsewhere!
Also, I believe from searching the forums that I cannot hide the ‘comments closed’ text at the bottom of static pages. Is this still true for the Bueno theme or are there potential work-arounds?

If you add each cake as a seperate post rather than on a page you can use categories and tags. I’d suggest categories being cakes/cupcakes/cookies etc and then tag each one with the event/colour/other information. You can include both the categories and tag widgets in the side/bottom-bar so that people can navigate similar posts in your blog. I think that you can even customise the navigation links to redirect to categories pages.
As it stands I think the only way to remove the “comments closed” box is with the paid CSS upgrade.

I’m having some difficulties with this theme as well.For some reason I can’t get the comments for the blog posts to work. I just started making the website and have lots of work to do, but the address is : http://www.hdolsen.com
Forsome reason posts can be posted on the blog site, but the comments doesn’t show up. But then if I say I want the ability to post comments on my portfolio site it appears to be possible to at least post a comment (not look at them all here either).
I tried using a plugin called “IntenseDebate”, but it would only show up on my portfoliosite when I allowed comments there..
I saw some of you guys with the same theme doesn’t have that problem.
I’d really appreaciate all tips and help I can get!~Hailey

That would be because you are using a different version of Bueno than we are.
You may not be aware of it, but wp.COM and wp.ORG are two separate entities. This is the forum for wp.COM.
Our software is different, the themes we can use are specially adapted to work on a multi-user platform.Scroll down to the bottom of your site and these words:
