[bug] Footnote's with markdown ending with a URL

When using markdown and adding a footnote
[^1]and placing this on your page:
[^1]: https://wikipedia.orgthe front-end output add’s and
(equals a space) to the url.
Most website’s don’t know how to handle those urls and you’ll get a 404 page as resultThe following does work..
[^1]: [https://wikipedia.org](https://wikipedia.org)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve had it on richardvd.wordpress.com but I think it happens on all websites.
Just tested it and also happens on:

Hi @richardvd, thanks. I’ve filed a bug on this. I’ve also noticed this only happens if your footnote only includes a link, for what it’s worth.
Thanks for sharing your workaround. I’d use that for now since it won’t give you any trouble when the bug is fixed, and I’ll write back here when it is resolved. Cheers!
