Bug; Image widget, edit Caption textbox lines shrink to one

  When I try to “Edit Image” in an image widget, the “Caption” text box gets weird as soon as I click to edit it.

  When the text is more than one line, the line offset keeps shrinking until all lines are overlapping the first line after a few seconds. Hard to edit. I click at the position I want to edit and type blindly.

  I’m using Firefox 66.0.4 (64-bit) on Ubuntu linux.

  Could you please remove or fix this feature that has become a bug.

  Hi there, IMG SRC can only take links that end with the file extension. I fixed that for you. :)

  Is this still an issue? If so, are you editing the widget in your site’s Customizer or in the WP Admin Widgets dashboard?

  No. I do the editing via the WP Admin. I later found that the problem isn’t limited to text boxes in WP, but it happens on a few other sites as well. (Not here in thistext box.)

  I identified the culprit as the Firefox add-on “Grammar and Spell Checker – LanguageTool”, which (on the current ubuntu version, no problem on windows) does the shrinking. Turning it off for the site solves the problem.

  It might be interesting to find out, why only a few sites are affected and how to “fortify” their configuration, since other tools might have similar or related problems.
