Bug in editor: "Add Media" button
-
Hey folks, just came across a nasty bug in the traditional post editor (the one you get to from the dashboard, Posts -> Add New): the “Add Media” button link goes to either
https://(blog URL)/wp-admin/post-new.php#
if you’re adding a new post, or
https://(blog URL)/wp-admin/post.php?post=(post id)&action=edit#
if you’re editing an existing post.
If you’re adding a new post, pressing “Add Media” has the effect of zeroing out all your content – it took me a bit to see what was actually happening.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Thanks for reporting this. However, I just tested this in the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox and couldn’t reproduce the behavior you’re describing. (The links you mentioned are expected and wouldn’t cause this issue.)
First, can you make sure you’re using the latest version of your browser? If you need, you can download the latest version of popular browsers here: http://browsehappy.com/
Then, can you try disabling any browser add-ons or extensions and see if the problem continues? That will help make sure this problem isn’t being caused by something else interfering.
If neither of those steps fixes the issue, please let me know the exact steps you are taking to create the new post and add media. That will help me keep investigating it on this end. :)
