Bug in Pick a Design page

    Hi, I’m just going through the process of setting up a WordPress site for myself (I’m a newbie to WordPress), I’ve arrived on the “Pick a Design” page, and clicked on a design (“Bitacora”) to preview it, and the sidebar has suddenly started flashing repeatedly (where the flashing is caused by the site repeatedly showing and hiding the scrollbar).

    It appears to be a front-end issue/bug with the sidebar when the browser page is set to a certain height.

    It seems as though the responsive thresholds for when to show the scrollbar on the sidebar might be overlapping, i.e. it might be trying to hide the scrollbar when the browser height is e.g. >= 500px, but then trying to show the scrollbar when the height is e.g. <= 520px, i.e. there seems to be an overlap of e.g. 20px where the sidebar flashes repeatedly.

    I’ve double-checked this in both Chrome and Firefox, and replicated the issue in both browsers.

    I’ve also double-checked this with multiple themes, and it does not appear to be theme-specific.

    Apologies if this is not the right place to ask/raise this issue, does anyone know how I can reach out to support if it’s not?

    For anyone else experiencing the same issue, a workaround is to right-click and select “Inspect”, which will bring up the Developer Tools. This changes the visible page size, and you can make this bigger/smaller to prevent the sidebar issue from occurring. It’s not ideal, but it’s nicer than the flashing.

    Another workaround is to simply resize your browser (which is a pain if you’re working on a small laptop screen, but again, it’s nicer than the flashing).

    Many thanks for reaching out and providing detail of the issue.

    Were you able to select a theme? Also did you notice if this was a theme specific issue you came across?

    If yes, can you tell me if you’ve able to activate another theme.

    Also, can you tell me if you have any browser extensions running on these browsers?

    Hi, yes, I could select a theme, it was just a visual front-end issue that I thought you might like to know about.

    As mentioned in the initial post, it isn’t theme specific, and it’s not browser specific either. I do have brwoser extensions running, but I can’t see how they’d be related to this.

    It should be very straightforward to replicate?

    Regardless, I decided after further exploration to use a different product instead, so I’m happy to mark this as resolved.
