Bug when viewing in Safari
-
Hi. If you enlarge the view of my blog in Safari on a Mac (ie make the text larger by zooming with Apple + or -), the blog’s title goes onto 2 lines. Squirm-making and horrible!
This doesn’t happen with Firefox. Does anyone know of any workaround to stop this happening in Safari – and several other browsers too, incidentally? Generally, this whole blog looks better with Firefox, but the issue with text enlargement is a real problem. Any ideas? I suspect there is nothing one can do here?
Thanks.
David

That is the difference in how browsers interpret the CSS and the HTML is all and short of buying the CSS upgrade and then making the title text smaller, there isn’t much you can do about it. Each browser interprets things a little differently.
You would not believe what using the “enlarge text” thing in Internet Explorer can sometimes do to a blog or web page. I’ve seen times that two clicks completely destroys the layout of the page and every element of the page plays musical chairs with some of it actually disappearing entirely.

Thanks. The thought of 50% of the world seeing the blog’s title broken into 2 lines is horrifying. Would it be fair to say that this is partially a design fault originating with the guy who designed this particular template? If so, would he be able to fix it if I were to contact him?

I think it would be fair to say that 50% of the world are not using Safari.
I’m afraid that even if you contacted the designer and even if he were to fix it, there would be no guarantee that wordpress.com would implement the new version of the theme.
