buggy quick-edit function for parent pages on pages
-
dear WordPress,
Happy New Year!
A bug, a complaint, and a suggestion:
1) Bug: When I try to reallocate parent pages to existing pages using the Quick-edit function, the changes only show up after the whole page list has been reloaded. What’s more, the Parent pages option does not always show all the other existing pages.
2) Complaint: Also, the Menu function is almost incomprehensible and so a nightmare to use. I despair of understanding what primary and secondary menus, etc, are. Can you not give us something that’s actually intuitive?
3) Suggestion: It would be very useful if we could “save” a blog appearance. If one tries a new layout or widget configuration on certain themes, the only way to return to where one was before is by putting it all together again. Which is tedious.
Thank you,
David

1. That’s unfortunately a side-effect of using some AJAX JS to speed up quick edit and browser caching. The call is made to put the change in, though to keep everything running quickly, the page isn’t reloaded.
2. Have you seen the video tutorial at http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ ?
3. That sounds like a great idea, thanks!
