Build a New Website While Old One is Still Up

  I’d like to build a new website (sparkleball.com) while my old one stays up at a different hosting site. Do I build it under a fake domain name or as sparkleball.wordpress.com and then map the domain when finished?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Thank you! two more questions since you were helpful quickly–

  1. will I lose my high ranking in Google search when I rebuild my website from ground-up and switch hosting company?

  2. Is there a way to import a dreamweaver-built site to wordpress? Or at least a few pages?
