  hello! I have a domain name already purchased through godaddy and i’m now trying to figure out how to set up my website through wordpress using my existing domain. How do i go about doing that?

  Hi there,

  If you’d like you can go ahead and create your website 1st. However in order for you to use your existing domain, you’ll need to purchase a Plan Purchasing a plan lets you use extra features such as using plugins.

  There are two ways for your to use your existing domain.
  1. Transfer your domain with us and we’ll manage your domain renewal. The domain has to be registered with the current provider for 60 days before it could qualify for a transfer. This is true each time you transfer a domain. The instructions are on this page for review:

  2. The other way to use the domain here is by pointing it to us through domain mapping. That practice is different from a transfer. There’s not a time limit in place for mapping.
