  I look to build a portfolio website that would run on a remote laptop with no internet connection. Is that possible?

  That is not really functionality that WordPress.com offers. However, you may have better luck with a localhost version of the WordPress open-source software from WordPress.org.

  I would post over in their community forums and see if anyone has thoughts on how this could be accomplished.
