  can i build ecommerce website on wordpress but not with woocommerce?

  Hi Sam,

  There are two types of WordPress to choose from:

  1. WordPress.com: where a site is created and hosted here with us.
  2. WordPress.org: where WordPress.org software in installed on a third party host.

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  On WordPress.com, there are several eCommerce options available depending on which plan you want to use:

  Sell Online on WordPress.com

  It’s worth noting that the eCommerce plan comes with WooCommerce already installed — so it may not be a good fit if you don’t want to use WooCommerce.
