  Hello!

  Is it possible to work on building a new site before transferring my domain from my old WordPress site?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Hello!

  Yes, you can work on building a new site before transferring your domain from your old WordPress site to your new site.

  While you are working on your new site, the new site will have the default domain provided by WordPress (yoursitename.wordpress.com).

  Once you are done working on your site, you can follow the instructions on how to transfer an old domain.

  When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.
