Building a new website

Hi, I have a Wix website but I’m finding a lot of limitations on that platform. I want to explore building the site on WordPress but I just need to do it slowly as I don’t have a lot of time and was wondering if it is possible to leave the current website running as it is an online store, while I build on WordPress and then eventually roll it all over.
Or is there an easy way to export everything straight over?
    Regards
    Cheryl

    Hi naturalfibrearts

Our Wix Importer is really easy to use. All you have to do is provide your site’s web address (called a URL). When the import is complete, you’ll have a site that’s pre-filled with your content & ready to be your new home on the web

Here is the support document link for that:
    https://transferto.wordpress.com/wix/

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Cheryl,

I’m following up on the modlook tag added to this thread.

The Wix transfer instructions @shubhamgmath linked to will be a great starting point for more information. It’s worth noting these instructions only apply to sites created and hosted on WordPress.com — not those created using WordPress.org software on another host.

You could do that, yes. Importing content from Wix won’t remove it from the existing site, so that can remain as it is until you are ready to switch over.

I’ll be here if you there is anything else you would like to ask :)
