Building a site without moving domain yet

    Hello! We currently have a site built on Weebly and want to rebuild it on WordPress. I don’t want to deactivate the current site until the new one is built as it is our ecommerce site and there can’t be any disruption to it being live. What is the best way to built a site and then make it live only when it’s complete? Thanks!

    Hi! You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. You’ll get a free “.wordpress.com” address when you sign up. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
