    I want to create a website but not necessarily a blog site. I want to have a shopping cart on my site. Can i do that

    I want to create a website but not necessarily a blog site

    WordPress.com is configured out-of-the box to display your blog posts as your “home” page, but to convert your blog to a website is often just as simple as setting a static page to be “Home”, and then moving your blog posts to a different page instead, like one called “Blog”.

    I want to have a shopping cart on my site. Can i do that

    You cannot add a shopping cart directly to your WordPress.com blog, but you can link to a third party shopping cart of products that you personally created and are selling.

    So the cart would have to be on a separate site, but you could link to it in your posts, with a Text Widget Links, or add a tab to your cart in a Custom Menu.
