Building a website – complete beginner

  Hi,
  I have a new website hosted on LowReg.
  I’m not familiar with the process but I will need to spend some time building this offline before I go live with it. I’d like to put up a work in progress sign on the site in the meanwhile.
  I’m not sure what the process is for this. I don’t have a wordpress account yet.

  You’re posting in the forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We can only help with sites that are hosted with us.

  If you’re using WordPress for your site at LowReg, you’re using the open source version made by the people on WordPress.org. If you have any questions about that version of WordPress, you can ask for advice at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  But what you’ll need in this case is called a maintenance mode plugin. You can search for that at https://wordpress.org/plugins/
