Building New Website plus Migration to Ionos

  Hi WordPress Team,

  I am working for Exceleram, and we currently aim to replace our outdated website, which is currently hosted at Ionos. We have a very small team and limited experience with websites, so I hope you can help me.

  The plan is to build a new website at exceleram.wordpress.com and then migrate it to Ionos. Ionos supports hosting with WordPress, and I saw this post in your forum: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/need-to-copy-a-free-wordpress-website-and-install-it-in-ionos-webhost-services

  I want to ask if a migration is possible. I just want to make sure this approach will work. Can you confirm if it is possible to migrate the website’s content?

  Long-term, we are considering moving away from Ionos. I assume migrating a WordPress page from Ionos and hosting it with you should not be a problem?

  And if that is all possible, can you give me a quote on how much we can expect to pay per month?

  Ionos currently charges us $7 per month for using their own website builder. They also charge $7 for using WordPress. If we use WordPress at Ionos, will there be additional costs from your side?

  If you do migrate from Ionos to us, there should be no issues, as long as the site is built using the WordPress software.

  It looks like there is a bit of confusion between WordPress.com (which is us) and the open-source WordPress.org software, which other hosts use, such as Ionos. If you do use a different host, you would not be charged by us, as we are a separate host.
