Building traffic
-
This is a two part question. First, how often should I post as it relates to building traffic? Once a week? Once a day? Every 15 minutes? Second, in another question that I asked( see it here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/best-seo-wpcom-vs-wporg?replies=4) the respondent said that from a strict SEO or traffice standpoint that http://smokymountainlight.wordpress.com/ would be best. That’s fine with me. Just as a curiosity would switching to a custom domain, http://www.smokymountainlight.com, which I do own, be worse or does it really matter?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

How often you should post depends on a lot of things. I would suggest that as long as you have good quality posts and new posts appear regularly (be it one a day or only a couple each week) then you are heading in the right direction. If you don’t think you can create a new, exciting, quality post each day then decide on a posting schedule that suits you and try to stick to it so readers no when to expect new content.
If you are just starting your blog it is best to switch to your own custom domain name now before you’ve built up lots of links and regular viewers.

+1 to what hallluke said, don’t post just for the sake of it or to create content, otherwise your postings may seem a bit flat. Post when you have something you really want to share.

I agree with the others. Publish only when you have valuable information to share. Twice weekly works very well for my blogs but other bloggers may publish more frequently.
