  Is there a simple way to add a shortcode or block that allows a user/author info to be added at the end of a blog post without installing a plugin?

  HI –

  There are themes that support this by default. If you want to look for that options at https://wordpress.com/themes/ feel free.

  Otherwise, my best suggestion is to create a “reusable block” with that information saved in it.

  Some folks also just put a little text widget in their side bar.

  You can do both of those for free.
