Bulk addition of new tags
-
Hi. I have combed through the Support docs about Tags, can’t find any mention of this… am I missing something or is it not possible? What I want to do is this: I have not used tags in past, and am now ready to add them to existing content. Is there any way to bulk ADD tags to posts? I find instructions about bulk deletions, but not bulk adds. I was hoping for something where I could get a list of all articles, and tick the ones to which I wanted to add a particular tag. Thanks very much.

Hello Sacred Path! I am following those instructions (red faced I didnt find that in my searching, but… thank you!) and curious – when I look at the bulk edit field that opens up, under Tags I have an empty box – it is not offering me the tag that I created previously through the Post Tags page… Should previously created tag names show up so I can pick them, or must I always re-type? A little concerned I could inadvertently create spurious tags by means of bad typing. thank you!

I think we were all typing at once. Guess I need to be very careful in my typing. Thanks, both of you, sleep well… I am happy for this to be closed unless you have anything further, Panos… thank you.

Yes, unfortunately in Bulk Edit you can see your existing categories but not your existing tags, and you have to re-type the tags. But it’s ok. The only thing that would create technical problems is if you type a word or a phrase that’s already being used as a category.
