Bulk Category Change

  Is there a way to do a complete Category name change? This category of mine has 19 posts, and I want to change the Category name?

  Go to posts > categories, click on the name of the category you want to rename, and you can edit the name in the window that opens. Make sure and save your change.

  Hi, I have a similar problem. I changed few tags and categories, but obviously Google has indexed the old ones, so when one searches On Google would find the link to the old category/tag and get an error message. Is there a way to redirect to the new category/tag?

  You’re welcome. Just lucky timing. :) And thank you.

  You can’t redirect but using the google webmaster tools, you can ask google to remove the bad urls. It takes 2 – 5 working days for them to be removed, usually.

  There are several forum threads on the webmaster tools and verifying your blog with google, if you haven’t already.

  After I did all the changes I updated the sitemap on Google Webmaster, so i suppose that should take care of things and it’s just a matter of days… Did I understand correctly?

  If you used the Remove URL tool, that should take care of it.
