bulk delete pages without crashing wordpress.com
-
Hi,
I exported this site so I could edit it using wordpress studio rather than wordpress.com, then I imported it back , on wordpress.com so that it was live again, however there was thousands of pages on the site and I could not cancel the import no matter what I did, so now if I try to bulk delete even 1 page of pages in the page manager, wordpress gives me some server 503 error saying:
“Something has gone wrong with our servers, and we’ve just been notified of the problem. This will be fixed as soon as possible, so kindly reload in a minute and things should be back to normal.”
But I don’t want to delete the site because I will lose the domain either forever or for 80 days according to: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/deleted-domain-when-will-it-be-released-from-redemption/
So, I’m not sure what to do here. Its a free domain not a self hosted or purchased domain.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I chose to just delete the site and make a new one, but I didn’t realize there WAS an option anyhow, called “Reset Site” here: https://i.ibb.co/hFC64Mwj/damn.png

Hi there,
Once a site is deleted, you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address . You can learn more here: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
Since you wanted to keep the address alllegotricks.wordpress.com, the best option would have been to use “Reset Site” option.
If you’d like to recover the deleted site and reset it, you can restore the deleted site from here: https://wordpress.com/sites?status=deleted
Check the Actions column to find the restore option. You can refer to this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/#restore-a-deleted-site
Hope this helps!

I didn’t know you could un-delete sites, oh well, the new domain is better anyway.
Thanks!

Yes, that’s a really cool feature, @tech012345! Just a quick note that you can only restore a deleted site within 30 days of deleting it, so it’s good to act quickly if needed.
I also really like the new site address you chose! And if you’re thinking about getting a custom domain without the wordpress.com part, I checked and the .com version of your new name is available to buy.
One helpful thing to keep in mind is that with any of our yearly plans, you’ll get a free custom domain for the first year. Feel free to check out the plans here:

If you have any questions or need help along the way, feel free to reach out. I’ll be happy to help!

How do I embed a list of URLs ending in .jpg, it just pastes it as one long link to the last (i think, or first) URL.
i.e, this.com/1.jpg this.com/2.jpg is being treat as one clickable link.
It’s fine if each image is in a separate block.
Image embeds dont use up my WordPress free plans storage quota right? they are hosted on imgur…

You’re right — if you’re pasting a batch of image URLs into the editor, WordPress might treat them as one long link, especially if they’re all on the same line or in the same block.
To fix that, try one of these options:
- Make sure each link is on its own line before pasting
- Or paste them into separate Paragraph or Image blocks after pasting
Either approach should prevent them from merging into a single link and help each image embed correctly.
And yes — since you’re using Imgur, the images are hosted externally, so they don’t count against your WordPress.com media storage quota.
Let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything else.

I still think it would be good if we could cancel a wordpress site import, is there a way I can give feedback on that?
-
That’s a great suggestion, @tech012345 – I’ve passed along your feedback about being able to cancel WordPress.com Studio imports to our product team. Features like this really do come from user suggestions, so thanks for taking the time to share that idea.
