Bulk deletion of 236 pages of comments?

  • Unknown's avatar

Please be advised I received over 5236 comments (236 pages) on my dashboard blog from various IP address from SNA.com (China). How do I protect my blog from intrusion and how do I bulk remove these items from my dashboard blog?

Was your system or my blog hacked?

    Hi Alan,

Our records show the only blog created under your username was deleted 4 months ago. Could you please supply the URL for the blog where this occurred?

How do I protect my blog from intrusion and how do I bulk remove these items from my dashboard blog?

In WordPress, you have several tools to prevent further Comment spam in the future, outlined here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/unwanted-comments/

You can also bulk delete comments in your Comments area of your /wp-admin/ dashboard. Check all comments to be deleted, and then select “Move to Trash” or “Mark as Spam” from the “Bulk Actions” dropdown. The click “Apply:”

Was your system or my blog hacked?

Commenting on a blog is not considered being hacked, even if the comments are troublesome. In small or large quantities, unwanted comments are considered spam.

Since I’m not sure where this occurred, I’m unable to examine the nature of this situation. If you could please supply your blog URL I’m happy to take a look. :)
