Bulk edit all posts using export & import?

    Hi

Currently I link to images on an external site in all my blog posts, if I were to cancel my subscription to that site all the images in my blog would break (which is bad). I’d like to be able to export all the posts of my blog, edit the xml to repoint all the images and then reupload all the posts to the blog, however I want them to replace the original posts and not just add duplicates, is this possible? if it was just a couple of posts I’d do it by editing them individually within wordpress but there’s about 370!

    Many thanks
    Suzy

We cannot export and import our Media Library content.

No matter how you do things, the pictures need to be transferred to your media library

The revised picture editing function now has a “Replace” option to replace a picture. I have used that for replacing a picture with a new one from my PC.

I have not tried the Replace function for pictures that are on the internet to see if they can be loaded to your media library – but worth a try

thanks for replying. that replace function means i’d have to go into every image on every post one by one which is what i was trying to avoid with the import export. Presumably the media library wouldnt be a problem no exporting because all those images arnt moving, its just the external ones i’ll be updating the links to.
