Bulk Upload of Posts

    Hello community!

I am working on a project that will require uploading of over 1200 blog posts. I would very much LOVE to not have to post each one manually, one at a time. Is there a way to bulk upload from a word doc or csv? I would also need to upload meta content for each post, so I’m guessing a csv spreadsheet would be ideal?

As a note, I am not very experienced with Plugins, i have done a little research and all i seem to find are people saying “i wrote this, not sure if it works but give it a try!”….giving it a try isn’t an option for this business! Please and thank you very much for any and all help you guys might have!

There is a bulk upload feature (Import) but it works only from an XML file. You are going to have to do a LOT of copy/pastes. I would suggest, from the remarks you made in another thread, that you review the Terms of Service. If the contents are the same just with “Reno” swapped out for “Philadelphia” or whatever, that would come under the heading of Spam and WordPress.com would suspend all the blogs.

The content is *similar*, but it is not duplicate with just the words swapped out. Each post will be geotargeted to a location, but will have variations of content within it, including new information, stats, links, and photos. In regards to my last question, I just wanted to make sure that the photos each had unique URLs, the more unique on the page the better!

Would you suggest making a template and savings and xml file, or the manual upload?

Again, thank you so much for your feedback. Its very appreciated.
