  1.) Background: I have three WordPress sites hosted on Linode. They are business sites and important to me but not my main business and frankly getting low traffic and having low commercial value.

  2.) I lack sysadmin skills, for example dealing with hacks, updating PHP, SSL certificates, etc. Does WordPress offer a package with good response time and bundled support for these three sites? How about for 7 sites, all low traffic, only 3 of them that important to me.

  WordPress.com is a piece of cake with all the complicated stuff like SSL taken care of for you. But if you wish to keep three custom domains you’d need three paid plans here. Could you “manage” with subdomain addresses that end in .wordpress.com instead?

  You can host as many sites as you want here on our free plan – we have no bandwidth limitations on WordPress.com, and all sites on all plans have the same level of security and spam protection, and both SSL and software updates are included by default.

  But if you want to make use of any paid features we offer, you’ll need to buy an upgrade plan for each site where you want those features, as explained above.
