Bushwick header font won't change color

    When I first set up my blog with the bushwick theme and purchased the customization options I was able to change the font color of the title to what I wanted. Yesterday I went into customizer to change the color of the links and the title font changed itself back to white and now the option to pick the title font color no longer even shows up anywhere in customizer. I tried using a different browser, I tried changing to a different theme and then starting over with bushwick, nothing has worked. I NEED to be able to change the title font from white because the background of my header image is white. Please advise on how to do this, I should not have to use CSS, this is supposed to be an option, and was a useable option when I first applied this theme.

  • I tested a fresh copy of Bushwick on a test site, and I don’t see an option to change the site title colour via custom colours.

    Please try adding this to your CSS:

    .site-header .site-title a {
         color: #xxxxxx;
    }

    Change xxxxxx to whatever colour you like.

    Just let me know if you need further help.

    @kathrynwp
    I can change the Header font color at > Appearance > Header
    Header Text
    __ Show header text with your image.

    See here http://timelesstopics.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header

    The CSS revision worked perfectly, thank you so much! That was driving me insane.

  • parisparkerb – glad you’re set.

    I’m having the same problem with my website, truerealsuper.wordpress.com.

    I’m not sure where you’re seeing a “Header Text” option under >Appearance> Header. All that I have is Current Header, Previously Uploaded, and Suggested.

    I’m also interested in changing the tagline text color. I’m not sure why this isn’t just a part of the color menu.

    Kathryn, thank you for the prompt and succinct response. I really appreciate it.

    sorry for the double post; this is a slightly different topic perhaps but related so I’ll start a new topic if need be:

    you gave me a URL that led me to an option that normally isn’t present on my dashboard. apparently this is due to the theme that I’m currently using doesn’t have a “Header” option under Appearance (just Themes, Customize, Widgets, Menus, Custom Design, and Mobile).

    is there some easy option for getting that Header option in or do I have to change themes to have it show up? thanks.

  • The Appearance > Header section of the dashboard is being phased out – since the Customizer is replacing it – so that may be why you’re not seeing it.

    You have are a couple of options:

    1) If you want to see the header text option in the customizer, return to the default colour palette by clicking “Default” and the “header text” colour option should reappear in the customizer.

    2) You can tweak the site title and tagline colour using CSS for finer control. Feel free to post in the CSS Customization forum if you’d like hands-on help with the necessary code.

    3) If you’d like to use custom colours, the site title and tagline will be set automatically to coordinate with your colour scheme.
