Current Terms of Service:
11. Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased.
May I remove the Admin Bar, credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the Admin Bar (the dark bar that appears at the top of WordPress.com sites when logged in) as well as credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable.

Hi @bassetthound, although you are not allowed to hide the WordPress.com and theme footer credits, as @auxclass mentions, you are allowed to restyle the footer credits to better fit with your design as long as they remain readable. If you would like to do that, or perhaps add a copyright or something similar to the footer area, just let us know.

Yes please I need to make that wordpress look more streamlined with site. That looks very unprofessional…even if it can be faded?

Replace your existing CSS with the following and see what you think. I’ve made your added content a bit larger and darker and then made the existing credits lighter.
.site-footer .grid::before { content: "© 2015 Gulf Associates, Inc. All rights reserved."; color: #000; font-size: 110%; } .site-footer .site-info, #colophon .site-info a, #colophon a:visited { color: #888; } -

Hello the sacred path you are a genius thank you so much. Now can I make it even lighter and is it possible to take out the word blog at and also the themes title?

If you looked at http://the-sacred-path.com/ – it is using the WordPress.ORG software and is not hosted on WordPress.COM, so the Terms of Service for WordPress.COM do not apply to his site

@bassetthound, the content of the WordPress.com and Theme credits cannot be modified, so no, you cannot take out “blog”.
Although “readable” my be considered subjective rather than objective, I see you have lightened the existing credits quite a bit, and in my opinion they are too light. I can’t actually read them, so I would suggest darkening them up to where I had them.
As @auxclass mentions, my site is self-hosted and I chose to remove the credits, which is possible when you self-host your own installation of WordPress on a different hosting service. Although WordPress has made it much easier to set up and keep a self-hosted WordPress installation running, it is more work, and unlike here at WordPress.com, you are the web administrator, troubleshooter and such.
