Business plan and bbPress
-
In the support docs we can read this:
“Membership plugins (Support coming soon)” [https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/adding-plugins/]
So, in the case of business plan, we can not use bbPress with all its force, because we can not have registred users in ours sites. Is there any perspective of deploying a site membership system?

Hi, @radtrad,
You’ll find this document useful https://en.support.wordpress.com/tutorials/build-a-membership-website-tutorial/
Let us know if it’s what you were looking at achieving
Cheers:)

No. Your link is about a membership site in WP.com, but I´m asking about a membership plugin inside WP.com.

Hi,
Thanks for clarifying.
With the Business Plan you can upload any Plugin found in the WordPress repository.
You can scan through the repository here https://wordpress.com/plugins/browse
Hope this helps!

I know this, my question goes further, as it is based on information from one of the support documents:
“Membership plugins (Support coming soon)”

The best user experience for a membership site would be to go through the WordPress installation, this is the open source software found at WordPress.org. You can certainly use plugins on our business plan with WordPress.com but this option would require your visitors to have a local member account and a WordPress.com user account.
Read about the differences between WordPress.com and the WordPress installation here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
There’s community help available for the WordPress installation as well through the forums at wordpress.org/support/
Write back with any other questions and I’ll be glad to answer those.

Let’s see if I understand, the visitor, in this case, have to register first on WP.com and then on my site, is that it? But, if so, why in the support document we find the following sentence: “Membership plugins (Support coming soon)”.
-
That’s right.
It is possible to use a membership plugin on WordPress.com with the business plan. Each member would need to create a WordPress.com user account and then use that same email address when creating their member account on your site.
This can get tricky for some folks, so you may want to set up a page explaining that on the site.
Does that help?
-
Yes, it helps a lot, but what do you mean with “Membership plugins (Support coming soon)”?
-
-
Yes. We’re working on making the membership plugins compatible with WordPress.com Business.
