Business Plan and Plugins

Now, in the Business Plan, we have the possibility to instal third-party plugins, but not all the plugins in WP repository, just the plugins ready for WordPress.com.

It would be interesting to have a list of the plugins prepared for WP.com, because I think in doing an upgrad in my plan just to use one of them: a forum (Muut); so, I need to know if this plugin is ready or not. It could be the case for other people with other plugins.

    Hi there,

    The Business upgrade includes:
    • Google analytics
    • Footer Credit Options https://en.support.wordpress.com/footer-credits/
    • SEO Tools https://en.support.wordpress.com/seo-tools/
    • The ability to install most plugins including woocommerce and the ability to install third party themes.
    https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    a forum (Muut)

As far as specific plugins go, that requires an answer from Staff so I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. Hi lemon8web,

my question is can i pay for buisness plan monthly

Plans can only be paid yearly. They cannot be paid monthly.

Any time you have a question, the best thing to do is create your own post rather than posting on an existing one.

  • Hi there,

but not all the plugins in WP repository, just the plugins ready for WordPress.com.

    Where did you see this?

You can install any plugin in the WordPress.org repository, except for a handful of minification plugins, caching plugins, and security plugins that are incompatible with Jetpack and with our systems. Those plugins will not be listed if you search for them via My Site ->Plugins.

    The support doc says:

Some plugins might not be ready for WordPress.com yet, as this is something the plugin author needs to implement.

    Plugins

That means some plugins that might not be compatible with WordPress.com and our interface yet, so they can’t be managed from the My Sites dashboard. You should still be able to install them, provided they doesn’t have compatibility issues with Jetpack or with your theme, but you won’t be able to manage it from WordPress.com. You’ll need to log into the WP-Admin dashboard to manage it.

But there are hundreds of thousands of WordPress plugins in the .org repository. It is quite impossible to check and list every plugin that works and that is compatible with Jetpack, and as the support doc says, it’s the responsibility of the plugin author to make sure it works here.

This is no different from how plugins work on WordPress.org. If someone writes a plugin it’s their responsibility to make sure it keeps up to date with new versions of WordPress. It’s not the Core team’s responsibility, and neither is it WordPress.com’s.

    “Where did you see this?”

    Kokkieh, I saw this here:

    Plugins

    See this:

“As a business plan user you have immediate access to Advanced SEO and Google Analytics. You can also install other plugins from the official WordPress repository through the plugin tab in your account. Some plugins might not be ready for WordPress.com yet, as this is something the plugin author needs to implement. If a specific plugin does not work for you, let us know. We will get in touch with the author or help you finding a suitable alternative.”
