Business Plan and Plugins

  Hi,
  I noticed that your business plan now offers custom theme and plugin uploads. Can I install any plugin or is this limited to a selection provided by wordpress.com?

  With the Business plan you can upload/ install your own custom plugins.

  Thanks guys. So one more question:

  Given that plugins and themes can now be installed on wordpress.COM, and given that there seems to be a full license of JetPack included (29$/month value), are there any other major drawbacks left in comparison to self-host wordpress.ORG?

  @supernovia I am wondering if GitHub Updater is allowed to be used (https://github.com/afragen/github-updater)? This for managing custom plugins and theme updates.

  Also, can we use plugins that were developed with PHP 7 in mind?

  @cryptochrome I’m sure that depends on the user and what they’re hoping to do. The main difference still is that one is free software and the other is a service.

  @implenton I should clarify, sorry. We wouldn’t be able to test every plugin out there, but the plugin developers can reach out to us for a testing environment so they can test their work, if that makes sense.
