Business plan – external theme

    I’m trying to establish . . . if I put a subscribe widget in the sidebar of an external theme on a wordpress.com business themes, do emails still go out the way they do now on my current premium site using a wordpress.com theme? Worried about losing the ability to notify people of a new post on business plan. Thanks

    Hi @jaw501 – the way blog subscription emails work doesn’t differ depending on what theme you’re using; emails will go out the same way, and your subscriber list will stay intact.

    One thing to keep in mind is that newer themes that use the Site Editor – known as block themes – don’t use widgets, instead they use blocks. This gives you more flexibility over where to put elements on your site, as you’re no longer limited to specific widget areas defined by a theme – you can put them anywhere! There’s a Subscribe block you can use with the Site Editor, so you’d still be good to go, even if you go with a block theme.

    I’d be curious to know what theme you have in mind to use and how you’re looking to grow your site with the Business plan!
