Business plan features – Running Ads from Google Ad Manager and other networks
-
Hi Team,
Small intro – I’m Digital Media Professional (Ad Operation) and looking to open new site through WP’s business plan.
My queries:
1. I’ve liked couple of themes links below. So, If i install these paid themes to Business plans, can i make edits in advertising section? or even add additional ad placements as my requirement (ad network’s) to make maximum utilization of my site?
https://demo.afthemes.com/covernews-pro/2. Basically, i’ll be running Google Ad exchanges ads primarily until I build my audience pool for the site. In this case, Google Ad Manager gives me 2 set of codes to one ad placements to paste in the website. How do I do this with above themes or make changes in word press settings? (I’ve already bought Google platform to generate the tags and i’m expert in implementing as well as per my site taxonomy).
3. Once I grow my audience number, I would like to invite other popular ad networks as well and few are directly inject the codes in the website so does WP and any of the available themes in the market can support that?
4. Can you send over the list and feature that completes the business plan.
I’m really looking to start my site from 2019 Feb and contents are sitting duck with me. Can you help me WP?
Thanks,
Sathish

Hi Sathish –
Thanks for writing to us with your questions.
1. Yes, you can customize the site advertising on the WordPress.com business plan. This is a good starting point: https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/#advertising
2. The ad placement can be customized by editing your theme. Your theme author will likely have a support doc that you can find with instructions. Here is an example: http://diythemes.com/thesis/wordpress-ad-placement-guide/
3. When managing your own ads on the site you can run which ever ones you want to display.
4. Yep! https://en.support.wordpress.com/business-plan/
Write back with any other questions.

Hi lizkarkoski,
Thank you for the wonderful reply!
Last query:
As I mentioned earlier i’ll be using Google Ad Manager (AKA DFP) for serving ads. Google Ad Manager gives me two set of codes, one each for Header and Body so how to add these codes to my site. Also, i’ll be using multiple header and body tags in a single page since i’ll be separating these ad units by positions.
Can you share me a screenshot or any article to look through?
Thanks in advance ☺

Hi @sathishlakshmiramana, for that I’d recommend a plugin that can insert the codes for you.
Or, if you want more control (and don’t mind hiring a developer or spending the extra time to figure it out), you can create a child theme and edit the theme templates as needed.

Cool one thanks!
Another query:
Once we add header and body tags from Google Ad Manager (DFP), when creating new post how these ad tags will be implemented there? or do we need to again edit the header and body of the new article?
Please help me on this as i’m new to wp. thanks again!

You will want to talk to Google Ad Manager support team directly about their product details, how it works, etc..
Tags can be added to WordPress.com posts. These tags will help with your content discoverability in WordPress.com Reader.
Read this information about Tags on WordPress.com.

Luckily i’m familiar with Google Ad Manager (expert in digital marketing).
Sorry i meant google publisher tags (header and body ad tag) not the tags after content.
I just want to know if i’m creating a new post within news section, can this be eligible or wp theme will show the ads as there’s be header and body tags on news.php files?
-
@sathishlakshmiramana that would all depend on how you set up your theme.
Again I would recommend a child theme or an ad manager plugin for most control. Please note if you edit your theme directly, the edits will be lost when you update your theme.

I believe it’s better we take help from developer in this case until we get used to the settings. Thanks again!
