Business plan plugins and themes
-
Is Business plan can use all the plugins such as WooCommerce, Envira Gallery for free? I am looking to try out some of the plugins and themes, but do not want to pay for the full year before I know if I am even going to use it.
Cheers!

Hi there,
We have a list of plugins that are not allowed on the Business Plan as they don’t work with our setup, and there is always a risk of plugins and themes that you install not being compatible with one another, but that aside you should be able to use most plugins here provider they’re compatible with the latest version of the WordPress software. WooCommerce works fine on WordPress.com.

Thanks for the replying, Kokkieh!
emm… I wonder do I still need to buy the service of WooCommerce if I paid for the Business Plan? -
Hi qsluna,
WooCommerce can be installed (at no extra cost) once you have upgraded to the Business plan and added a custom domain. Any paid WooCommerce extensions would be an additional cost though.

Will the themes the same? If I upgrade to the Business plan and use a custom them. Will any paid themes extensions would be an additional cost as well?

The WooCommerce plugin, is free. There are features and extensions that are an extra cost. Depending on what functionality you need on the site would determine what paid extensions you choose.
I’d suggest taking a look at the WooCommerce site as a starting point.

Thanks, lizkarkoski! I think I will need some.
basically, a friend suggested getting a hosting for WP. So I want to know if I can get the stuff I want already through WP.com or not.I know there are a few custom themes I searched through my WP admin page. I tried it, it seems to need to pay extra money for using the theme, though.
I wonder if I DO NOT need to PAY the EXTRA to upgrade the theme if I get the BUSINESS PLAN in WORDPRESS.COM?Regards,

Hi there,
If you are seeing the theme on https://wordpress.com/themes, you do not need to pay additional money to use any of the themes featured, including the premium themes, if you have the Premium or Business Plan.
This is because the Premium or Business Plan unlock unlimited themes from the WordPress.com Theme Directory, for as long as you continue to renew your plan.
However, if you wished to buy an external theme outside WordPress.com (as you can use custom themes on the Business Plan), then you’d need to pay that developer/company for whichever theme you wish to use. That is because they’re likely not associated with Automattic or WordPress.com.
Let us know if that makes sense. :)

Thanks a lot, Torres126! It certainly makes a lot of sense for me.
One additional question I want to ask is about the custom domain name for WP.com (Seeing if there is a difference between using WP.org or WP.com) :
Is the fee pay for the Business Plan also include a domain fee each year (include renew fee)?
Thanks very much!
