I read all the articles already. I need to know specifically what is the limit for processes before I can commit to buying. It says unlimited for traffic and storage space that I know, but those being unlimited have nothing to do with processes. As if you run over the processes limit the site will still go down and slow down by a lot. I need a specific answer about the “processes limit” or “entry process” whatever you guys call it on wordpress

What site are you referring to? http://timelessleaf.com/ which is hosted with hostgator or https://leafnoveltranslation.com/ which is hosted on WordPressdotcom?

  • Hi there,

I’m not aware of a hard limit in this regard, but I’ll follow up on that for you.

Can it accomodate a large PHP file?

WordPress.com does not provide FTP access on any plan, so it is not possible to modify or upload PHP files directly to the site.

  • To follow up, we have a limit of eight concurrent processes on a Business Plan site, but if a site hits that limit and there aren’t actually any performance issues with the site, we increase that automatically. To date we’ve not had to increase this for any site.

If you are on Hostgator’s plan that allows 25 concurrent processes and you’re hitting the limit, there is most likely another performance issue on your site, probably caused by a plugin or a problem with your server configuration.

Before going through the whole process of migrating your site to another provider, perhaps you should consider working with Hostgator support to figure out what is actually causing the performance issues, but that’s up to you.
