Business plan vs Ecommerce plan

Hello, The ecommernce plan says that it allows you to have unlimited products or services. How many does the business plan allow you to have?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  • Howdy –

Thanks for writing to us. Do you have an existing site or store that I can take a look at?

You can use either the business or ecommerce plan to have an online store on our managed hosting environment here at WordPress.com. Both of those would allow you to use the WooCommerce plugin to build that store.

The ecommerce plan also includes a few specific WooCommerce extensions that folks commonly use on their stores. It would expand your features to include

    • accept payments in 60+ countries
    • Integrations with Top Shipping Carriers
    • Premium design options for online stores

These are built in to that ecommerce plan. So, the best plan really depends on the details of your store and if those additional WooCommerce extensions are going to be helpful or not.

We know that saving money is important for every business. My suggestion might be to start on the business plan because you can always upgrade to the ecommerce option later on – and if you decide to upgrade only the difference of the plans is needed, not the entirety of the new plan. Does that help?

The plans also have built in savings when you purchase the yearly option versus paying monthly. On the business plan that would save you $15/month in hosting costs. Write back with more questions. We stay close by and are happy to help you get started on the right track.
