Business website

Want to create website for my business and also want to use it for selling the products. Which plan should I go for? It’s a small business.

Hi there,
You’re going to want to either get a Premium plan or a Business plan. Both will allow you to take payments. You really can’t go wrong with the Business plan as it will give you everything you could possibly need. However, it might be worth starting with the Premium plan. If you find that you need more options (such as SEO tools to drive more traffic to your business or the ability to upload other themes) you can always upgrade to a business plan later.
Either way, good luck with your business!

The built-in payment system, Simple Payments, integrates only with Paypal. However, I believe if you wanted other options, you could install a plugin for another payment processor. To install plugins, you would need the Business Plan though.
Which payment processor are you interested in using on your site?

I’ll flag a staff member here in case I’m wrong about this (@staff), but…
I think if that’s what you’d like to do, then your best bet would be to install the woocommerce plugin and follow instructions below:
How to Configure Bank Transfer Payment in WooCommerce
Again, for this you would need a Business Plan.
-
Thank you. I will check the link (WooCommerce). Is there any other way in the premium plan?
-
I don’t believe so, but I’ll let a @staff member get back to you to confirm. I think if selling products and receiving payment via back transaction is your main priority, I would consider a going directly through woocommerce, instead of paying for the business plan and installing the plugin. You can check out https://woocommerce.com/ which is owned by WordPress.com’s parent company Automattic.

@mdtouchton Welcome to the WordPress.com support forums. Note that to attract the attention of a member of staff to a thread here you need to add the word modlook to the tag box on the far right. There are a number of other useful tags that volunteers can use such as duplicate (when applicable) org (when someone is asking about a site using the WordPress.org software) etc etc. This makes worthwhile reading: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/

Hi there @yadumanartarcade,
@mdtouchton covered your options pretty well. The WooCommerce plugin via the Business Plan is a great option if you are selling multiple products and you need customization features that a typical eCommerce store would provide:If you aren’t selling as many products or do not need any extensive features, simple payments will allow you to set up your site with a payment gateway like PayPal and sell your products:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/simple-payments/
You will only need the Premium Plan to use simple payments.
Hope that helps. Thanks!

Thank you. Is it safe to set up PayPal or I need to add any security features for that?
I have two more queries:
1. I have added a testimonial, I am not able to see it on the website. Though it is published. How to get the testimonial on the home page?2. I have added contact us page, But, I am not able to see it on the published website.

Could you please clarify what you mean by “security features”? Although it’s always recommended to use a secure password and set up 2FA for services such as PayPal, you shouldn’t run into any issues if you do so.
As for the issues with your site, could you please post the URL of it? Thanks!

HI there,
Is it safe to set up PayPal or I need to add any security features for that?
The Simple Payments option on the Premium Plan and the WooCommerce PayPal payment gatewy plugins both work via PayPal’s API, meaning your site will send a request to PayPal, or direct the customer to PayPal’s website, and the actual transaction will happen on their end. So you’ll never actually receive payment information yourself that you need to secure on your server. That’s why using a payment gateway is recommended over processing payment information yourself.
All WordPress.com sites are also automatically secured via HTTPS, so you should not need to do anything else.
You can find details on all the security features on WordPress.com here:
1. I have added a testimonial, I am not able to see it on the website. Though it is published. How to get the testimonial on the home page?
I assume you’re speaking of https://yadumanartarcade.com/?
Your theme does not have an option to automatically display testimonials on the front page, so if you want to display a testimonial you’ll need to use the Testimonials shortcode to do so. Edit the page, and add the shortcode on a new line:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/testimonials-shortcode/
2. I have added contact us page, But, I am not able to see it on the published website.
I can see the page at https://yadumanartarcade.com/contact/, and it’s listed in your menu. Did you manage to figure this one out?
-
Thank you so much. This is helpful. I am able to figure out the problem with the page “contact us”.
Now I will try testimonial shortcode to get it featured on my website.

We’re glad to hear that! Since this thread is going to start wrapping to multiple pages soon, if you need more help, can you start a new thread? You can do that here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1
You can add a “modlook” tag if you’d like to get staff attention.
