I’m having two issues:
1) How do I show full posts instead of just excerpts on the home page? In Customise – Content, I’ve selected “Full post” on the Blog Display menu but it’s still just showing excerpts.
2) In the same menu, I’ve deselected “Show author”, but the author is still showing.
My homepage is not set to my blog feed, because when I set it to my blog feed it showed up as empty.
Is anyone able to help with this?

1. The “Full Post” setting at Customize > Content Options affects the blog page, which is https://pollysbooknook.wordpress.com/blog-feed/, category pages, and other archive pages. It doesn’t affect the homepage, which is a static page with (I presume) a Blog Posts Listing Block inserted into it. I believe this block displays excerpts by default. To display full posts with the block, if possible, would probably require CSS customization.
2. That setting doesn’t affect the homepage for the same reason given in #1 above. It applies to the blog page, category pages, and other archive pages, but not the static homepage.

I’d suggest that you try that setting again. If you still can’t display the blog page as the front page, then this could be caused by browser issue. If so, then the Browser Issues support page might be helpful.

I just tried again, and tried viewing the website on my phone, a different browser, and a different computer (none of which have me logged into WP). It just says “Blog feed” underneath my title, then is totally empty.

Hi there!
Please go to My Site>Design>Customize>Homepage settings and make sure you mark the option to display Your latest posts and click on the button Publish.
You’ll see that this will make your homepage to display all the blog posts (not excerpts). You’ll also notice that the author’s name is not displayed anymore.
If, after publishing the changes, you still don’t see the site correctly, try clearing your browser’s cache. You can find here more information on how to clear the cache depending on your browser:
