Buttons 2 Theme
-
I love this theme. But if I use the fancy images I can’t center the pic. And I can’t edit the css because I’m on a free plan.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I haven’t even used the featured image. I’m talking about images within posts.
I was going to post a couple of pics but not seeing the possibility to do so here.
But I’ve got a pic where I add a pic & simply publish & no it don’t automatically center. And I’ve got another one where I clicked the center button & it still don’t center. Upon googling people have recommended adding something css. But again I can’t edit/add anything to it because I’m on the free plan.

When you indicated that the theme was Button 2 and mentioned “fancy images,” I surmised that you were referring to the Button 2’s featured images with its “detailed accents at the corners.” If not, perhaps you can explain what you mean by “fancy images.”
I was going to post a couple of pics but not seeing the possibility to do so here.
See the Making a Screenshot support page.
And I’ve got another one where I clicked the center button & it still don’t center.
Did you click on the image before using the center button?
Upon googling people have recommended adding something css.
CSS is definitely not required.

Hi dmleforce,
I’m just following up on the modlook tag added to this thread.
It would be great if you could do as @musicdoc1 recommended and make a screenshot of the page containing the image you are referring to. If you upload it to the Media Library and share a link here, we can take a closer look at what is happening.
Thanks!

@musicdot1
I thought when you made post had to designate featured image. This theme has detailed accents at the corner on every image – not just the featured.

Since the image wasn’t the only thing within the post – yes I did click on it before clicking the center button.
Also – don’t know if it helps – but I’m using Firefox.
-
No editing allowed here either huh?
The above pic that worked was before I touched anything.
The following pic is after centering. As you can see there’s no difference.

-
Note – if I switch back to regular pics it works fine – as you can see on my site. It works fine even after clicking on the image before clicking “center”.
-
I’d like to take a look at the specific page and image from the the HTML editing view. Looking at https://button2demo.wordpress.com/fancy-image-corners/ we might be able to adjust the
htmlto remove the fancy bit. Could you send me a link to the post that you’re working on? Thanks. -
Sorry, I hadn’t known that fancy corners were optional on images inserted into posts and pages on Button 2.
staff-zinnia,
Looking at https://button2demo.wordpress.com/fancy-image-corners/ we might be able to adjust the
htmlto remove the fancy bit. It’s my understanding that @dmleforce doesn’t want to remove fancy corners. She just said:
Note – if I switch back to regular pics it works fine – as you can see on my site.
She only wants to center them, and finds that images with fancy corners will not center.
-
Hi @dmleforce, it looks like the problem is with centering in the block. I’ll file a bug report on this. If you are comfortable editing HTML, you can work around it, too. Basically use a regular image, then edit the HTML and add “fancy” to its class.
We can help you with this if needed. Let us know whether you’d like to do that or just wait for the fix.

Again…I love this theme because of the fancy images but I can’t center them.
All my images were first on the blog page & now on the portfolio page. Galleries & slideshows can’t have fancy corners but every individual image can & I’ve got quite a few of them. I can’t center fancy corner images – automatically or otherwise. So I switched ’em to regular images.
I was under the impression I’d find theme creators in the themes forum. Or that a moderator here would help bring this to their attention.
I’ve been using this software nearly 15 years. This is not something I’m doing nor something I can fix. Even if I could…why should every user of this theme have to fix this problem when it would be so much easier for the creator to fix it?
I’ve tried this using Firefox & now Microsoft Edge. It’s the same either way.
Here’s the image:

Well I posted html but it came out a pic. Sorry.
Thank you. :) And I don’t have a problem with html but don’t care to edit every post & add something to it. Because once it’s fixed I imagine I’ll have to edit every post all over again. So I’ll wait for the fix.
I hope we’re notified of the fix so I can change the images back to fancy.
But you are too cool for school. Thanks again. :)

Totally understood; I’d do the same thing.
We’ll let you know when we hear back. Or, the theme developers may respond here.
About the images being posted here: I’ll edit those so they’re marked as code. :) Cheers!
-
(Edited the most recent one; I’ll leave the others as they are though if that’s fine — just use the “code” option in the future to post code.)
-
I meant to do all the images. There should be 3 – one with me simply adding fancy image & publishing in Firefox & one with me clicking on center in Firefox & the third was simply adding & publishing in Microsoft Edge. I meant for the html code to be code. But since you’ve turned it back into code I can see the true code was clipped off but for the image part. That explains why it posted as an image.
<img src="https://crochetbydawnmichelle.files.wordpress.com/2019/04/40014484_847136085485781_6142893450598547456_o.jpg?w=663" alt="" />I’m posting code for staff-zinnia & have clicked code but all I’m seeing is some backwards looking marks. In case it don’t work it says wp block image is style fancy & figure class is aligncenter yet it’s not aligning.
Thanks again.
-
No worries, we got it. I fixed the one so it’s code. The backward marks should have made it show up as such.
And, anyway, we did find that there was a bug and have filed a request to get it fixed. We’ll let Liz know when she’s online again.
